The purrfect setting! Harkins Cattery is located a nature reserve in the beautiful
County Kildare countryside, just outside Naas.

The purrfect design with lots of space! Your cat (or family of cats) will have their own private garden with grass, bushes and trees - as well as purpose built, detached and
fully heated 'cathouse'.
We do not have a "one size fits all" policy - there are four garden sizes and six cathouse sizes. The larger ones have
a variable number of separate 'bedrooms' (numbering from 1 to 4). The minimum garden size is 16ft x 10ft x 8ft, for the exclusive
use of your cat at all times.
We can advise - via phone - what garden size will suit your cats best, or alternatively you can choose while inspecting the cattery for yourself. Should you wish to inspect the cattery - which we encourage, as you will see the happiest and most relaxed boarding cats in the world! - you can arrange a visit on any day of the week during daylight hours. You can confirm that "now" is a good time to visit by phoning us on (045) 866710.
All the attention your cat deserves! We specialise in cat
boarding and care. We do not offer the service to dogs or
other animals, and this is not a sideline operation. Caring for cats
is our business, and we have been in this business since 1994.
We promise to look after your cats as if they were our own.
Cost of Boarding. The average daily cost varies with the length of the stay (the longer the boarding, the lower the daily charge). It is best to phone us when you are sure of your cats' starting and finishing date and time. Time information is important for an accurate quote as we do not charge for a full day if you do not need it.
Boarding may start or finish on any day of the week from 9.30am to 8.00pm (by appointment). The cost will also vary according to the number of cats boarded and the size of the accommodation you choose. We have
a maximum capacity of up to 20 customers at one time.
In
the past we have had bookings from people in the Kildare, Wicklow,
Meath, Dublin, Carlow, Laois, Wexford and Offaly regions.
Boarding Tips - Food, Bedding and Travel. We are keen to ensure that your cats experience the least amount of stress while boarding. For this reason we ask all customers to supply the food their cat normally eats - including favourite treats in proportion. Please make no major changes to your cats' normal food choices! Additionally, there is no problem if any of the food requires fridge or freezer storage.
To help your cat settle in and feel 'ownership' straight away, it's a good idea to bring a small blanket or cushion (etc) that has already been used by the cat and therefore has it's scent already on it.
When traveling to the cattery it is a good idea to pack your cats' bedding separately, and to use newspaper or cat litter in the Pet Carrier Box just in case your cat cannot wait during the trip!
Vaccination. In the interests of safety and hygiene, we must insist that you provide a certificate showing that your cats have been vaccinated. If you are unsure about this, please check with your vet.
